Ah, Haruhi... [ this... is a bit awkward. he can't help but rub a hand over the back of his neck, giving an awkward chuckle. ] I've run out of books to read, so I thought I'd ask if anyone had something interesting from their world that they like to read.

Well... how about Dazai? People like him - I think he's depressing, but it might be interesting for you guys. Or well, actually, scientist... You ever read Newton?

I haven't seen if his work is any different from other worlds, but I've read our version of Newton... but maybe that's something to look into. [ he's got a project brewing in his head. it at least gives him a good reason to reread. ]

Dazai? [ unfamiliar name. that must be someone from haruhi's country. ] What does he write about?

Newton on Earth was a physicist primarily, but he was also a closet alchemist. Alchemy on Earth isn't the same as your stuff though - it's basically chemistry with some added mystic components to and sadly never seemed to work.

As for Dazai... depressing new-agey things. Science fiction.

I'll have to look into that. [ and then at night, the entire fma house will wake up to the sound of laughter. ] It's amazing how different things can be. Our Sherlock Holmes is a lot different from the one you guys have.

But he was an alchemist and so were a lot of the suspects. It's amazing how the situations were different when you removed the alchemy.

Oh, yea.

...Well they'd need to be more creative without the alchemy, duh.

In some ways. Hiding the evidence of alchemy is really difficult, so they'd have to plan carefully and creatively.

The criminals, anyway. That puts a sort of handicap on Holmes, you know.
